Pardon me for my ignorance, I'm a bit dyslexic. How the #### do you sequence shift this thing without blowing the rearend?

1lo 1hi 2lo 2hi and so on start in 1st with button down wind up pull button up release acell rear will shift you will feel hear it. Wind out clutch and shift to 2 and button down at same time. Wind out button up release accell, rear will shift. Repeat repeat repeat. I always downshift a full gear some rears dont downshift well. some have gears that overlap when splitting you will find them quick

Jeez, thanks. I really didn't get the directions on the visor. I picked it up today and drove it 240 miles from NY to Boston. Thank you very much.

on those 2 speed rearends, I always when loaded started out in low range & when you get too 3rd gear......pop the button up, first let the rpm`s die then stab the fuel a little so the shift isnt so harsh!!

Do not remove the range selector button........you will then be stuck in low range or high range........high range...you might find that 1st gear will be needed often & will wish you had low range!!

its kinda like 2nd is to short & 3rd is too tall........most old timers know what this means...trust me, dont remove the spliter!!

HI. some two speeds differ in shift ranges. My 86 f800 is a 5+2 and the pattern is 1L-1H-2L-2H-3L-3H-4L-5L-4H-5H. Dont let the horror stories from others scare you about the two speed.Once you get the hang of it you will realise the bennifit. Problems come when you let othe people drive(employees) who dont know or care as you have read. You can skip around in the ranges, you do not need to hit every gear L-H or vise versa, it all depends on load, road speed and grade, its a feel not a science. keep praticing, you will get it!

Yup. That's the ticket. Deliberate, smooth shifts.

That split end will be appreciated on loaded climbs. Shift before the \grade.

Warm up the rear in cold weather before ranging.

Shouldn't range the rear unless your moving, to avoid a gear wreck.

Nice truck. Have fun !!;)

Pop it up in 4th and only put it in low when you stop. NEVER EVER shift while in reverse!!! If you have to downshift while moving, make sure your bogged down and it will shift smoother. Dont let any hot shot 'I can drive anything' guys touch it. Ive never blown one, or known anyone else that has. Had a 78 f-600 that I had to tape it in high cuz it would get stuck between hi and lo and had to crawl under and spin it by hand, but it was a flatbed bucket and was light enough that it didnt need lo.

All about load and rpm. Figure out the rpm range it shifts in and stick to it. It was pure he double hocky sticks when I learned. Once you learn where the shift range is its easy. Not all your employees will be able to grasp this or care to.
