Cody and I were dispatched to a small fire in Chabot Park near Castro Valley (Oakland hills) yesterday as a contract faller and swamper. The fire was in eucalyptus and light brush. In all honesty there was not alot of falling to be done. I think we were there because a few hours into the fire on Monday night a big euc fell inside the burn very near where the crews were working. I know it scared the fire crews and it was taken very seriously, as it should have been. We took down about 15 trees, 3 at on time as one large dead tree was tangled with 2 live trees. Cal Fire and the Park Fire Dept took good care of us and we tried to take care of them.
Cody and the 441 taking off a small limb.
A butt shot of me working on a fire damaged branch that I had just cut of the tree. It took a few cuts to get it off the trail. The 660 worked like charm. BTW both saws have those heavy and expensive Cannon bars fire wooders hate so much.
