Yesterday I received a kind of rough looking Partner 5000, the saw was boxed in a Jonsered box, From a 490! Funny thing is i belive the P5000 and J-red 490 are almost the same saw!

Well, the seller said he didn´t knew if it would start! and it wouldn´t! Popped of the Cylinder, and it had some lightly scoring! Put it together with a Husky 350 ring, and it started! Runs well, and rips just fine, but stalls sometimes at idle!
The crank is almost like new!
Only issue, except the P/C, is the rubber AV at the cylinder gone bad!

The price was 350 Dkk, about 65 $ (cheap far almost any saw here)! Since the bar was very bad, the seller had thrown in a brand new Oregon Pro-lite, 3/8, 058, 15" bar! So a good deal no matter what!

But I really don`t know if I should keep it! My plan was to steal the P/C, for my Husky 55, but not sure I wan´t to, since the saw is in fair condition!

But i don´t need more projects, so maybe some of you would like to have it?

The saw is cheap, but the shipping isn´t!

PM me if you do.

But I´ll keep the bar ;)

Wish i had the money i been wanting a 5000 for my husky 55 for sometime now....

Bo, that is almost as ironic as me recieving a Partner 5500 in a Electrolux sweeper box. :msp_ohmy: (you know the one :msp_rolleyes:)

Was that 5000 a open port cyl or closed?

I have a good 5000 so I'm good for them. Still need a nice 5000+ though. :msp_tongue:

It was a close port cyl, maybe I'll build a clone, with that one, and my 543! But will the cyl fit directly? Are the diameter of the skirt's the same?

I think so....

Run them side by side first though, I think your 543 with the extra displacement might give it a better run for its money then you think and might make you think its not worth the trouble swapping them around.

Yeah, thought that too, Know the p 5000 is close port! But the 543 still has a 2 mm bigger bore! That most give something!
