We took down a big Sugar Maple today that was leaning about 9 degrees uphill over a garage. It was some serious rigging but we could reach it on the uphill side of the garage with our bucket. I am sure most of you do this stuff everyday like us so nothing new. The customer was watching us the whole time and when we got done he told me that he had a whole new outlook and appreciation for what we do and how good we are (both myself and my awesome ground crew) and really appreciates our business and what we do day in day out.

I felt really good about hearing that not only for me but my ground crew too.

On top of that, he daughter made us sack lunches that would rival some of the best deli places plus drumsticks.

Just want to share with you guys.

Always great to have those customers! And the other customers say"I was going to cut it down myself but my knees aren't what they use to be" Mean while the trees over his house by 30 feet and in the middle of a deck.

Yeah! Customers like that become friends. I left e few behind in England like that. There was one old couple who would insist we had a fry up before we'd even started. They'd continue to ply us with goodies. I used to arrange my day so I had time to chat with them.

I've had some great clients in the past but one memorable one was a local cop we took a huge, split oak down for. It was split in the ice storm last year and he had it held together with a logging chain and a come along. TreeBot worked with me on that one. After he took some of the weight of the back side of the tree where it was leaning over the pool and house we pulled it over with a GRCS and my 2 ton dump. Pretty hairy felling. The cop was amazed. LOL, he had a cooler full of beer iced down for us after we got the tree on the ground but we had to turn him down. TreeBot does not drink and I was too busy to hang out and drink beer. I left my ground crew there to cut the tree up and me and the Bot moved on to the next job. We thanked him for the offer though.

Great job, you'll get business from him. (word of mouth) that's the only way I get work. I do not advertise, customers tell their friends and families.

LT...:)

You hit that nail right on the head. I have heard quotes like that come out of atleast half of the men that call for estimates.

Same here...best response is the nod and smile.

I had a hell of a good time taking down a couple trees last year for a big Ferrari collector last year. Long story short, the day ended with me test driving a 328 and a 360!!!!!

WOW! I need to get a different customer base. Even had a guy say " Ya I use to cut down the redwoods in BC but my knee's couldn't take it any more." Mean while he never even mentioned the choice saws in the back of my truck. Go figure!

i played minor league baseball (pitcher) for two years and a lot of locals know that....I constantly get people telling me how fast they threw when they were 14 and how good they could have been before their arms went bad....

same concept

again...nod and smile
