Has anyone done this?

Is the control valve the lift/crush valve? Any pointers?

per their discussion and drawing it appears they want to check the pressure setting at the control valve for feed rolls.

Point 5 kind of scares me though. Only run engine for 4-5 seconds or you'll damage the hydraulics? It would take me longer than that just to wind the engine up/down, let alone get a reading and adjust the pressure.

what they are saying is don't hold the valve open for more than 4-5 seconds working agains't relief valve (when you are checking system pressure) because it causes rapid heat build up of oil. as soon as you let go of valve controlling feed rolls it returns to neutral- no hyd pressure, no strain, no heat, no problem. oil then recirculates and goes back to tank
