I have an allis model #95 saw with a 16"bar for sale. Manual oiler. Compression is ok, but not super. Saw does run great and cuts like a beast. Carb will need some adjusting, but this unit will idle. This model is really just a Homelite XL-12. If I remember correctly it's about 60 cc's. I'm asking $275 or make an offer

The reason why I know it is a poulan.. I sevice poulans too make some extra cash. I only do warranty jobs only for them..

I bet it would be lucky to bring $75 IMO. What do you think Allan? I been offered 306's in the past for $50-$100 with perfect running and 16" bars. Just to hard to find parts for anymore IMO.

I don't know what they a worth.. There is ads in my Power Equipent Trade Mag.. That they buy old obsolete poulans..There is two places in there I can give you the numbers if anyone needs them ..

I've heard this from others as well, but my saw doens't resemble a poulan product, look at the photo, looks identical to an xl saw. So much so that the parts interchange, like the handle and piston and cylinder and carburetor. I have already replaced the carb with a unit from an xl-902, fit perfectly. Take a look at my photo, I think you'll see what I mean.

It still looks like the one pic off of cut4fun link..There is also other models of the 306 too..Forgot to say like on the link said.. It is "based on model 306"..but still made by poulan...

here's the poulan 306....ALL models of the 306 look similar.

By the way, the link you refer to is a photo of an allis chalmers saw, not a poulan. Go to Poulan on the same website, and you will see the saw depicted below.

I am going call a major dealer that has been dealing in both homelite and poulan for over 30 years... So when he calls back I will post it ..So we can get to the bottom of the subject .. :dizzy:

Mike acres site could be wrong on this one. But asking $275 still seems steep. Good luck.

Remember it was made for Allis so it could be either.. I will know here in alittle bit..But I have worked on old Allis's before yes there are a few around my area..lol..Evertime it was a poulan..But we will see here soon ..

the asking price is based on an identical saw that was listed on mike's site for 300.00 Remember it's 275 obo.

phlynott,

The saw you describe looks to be a Poulan Model 361. It is designed after the Homelite XL-12. They were a good saw. Relatively fast cutting. Used them with bows attached to cut pulp wood. Went to the 306A and 245A when they came out. Again, fast cutting saws, but I burned alot of them up. Anyway, I'm sure it is a Poulan 361.

Well I got a call back from the poulan and homelite parts dealer for older saws.. He said it is a poulan 361.. It is copied off the homlite xl-12 and the parts will interchange..Price well to a collector in mint shape it 250.00 but that is if a collector is looking for that model ..Well I got to the bottom of it all ... Thank God I was :bang: ...lol... Yes ppl he is right in it looks like a xl-12 ,but made by poulan in fact...

Allan

PS: I hope you can find a collector that needs that saw in there collection..
Good luck and best wishes
