Were the cylinder screws in to the main lift cable how many threads should be showing? And can you spin the cylinder to tighten it up? Thanks

Not sure on the threads, assuming you took it apart? Normally there's paint showing where it was at before. The cylinder rod can be turned if not too much pressure exists internally. You may have to bleed a little oil from it be able to turn it. Be careful not to let air into the system. Don't want anyone getting hurt!

I dont have it apart i bought the unit a couple years ago and just getting around to using it so iwas giving it a visual inspection and it dawned on me i have no idea how far the cylinder rod is screwed into the cable lug, may be fine i just dont know how far it goes in, there is a locknut on it that was loose so?

Compare it with the one on the opposite end, it they're close to the same # of threads, just jam it tight and carry-on!:msp_thumbup:
