Hi everybody I am new to this forum, and haven't had any luck online searching to resolve a problem.
I have a 1997 Altech Chipper, I've had it a few years now with trouble free results, however yesterday while chipping some branches, ( none were larger than 3"). It appears that either the drum has shifted to one side or the whole drum shaft has moved. The knives are now slightly touching the side of the housing... ( belt side).
Has anybody ever encountered this issue? The bearings feel ok, as I can spin the drum by hand and bearings feel ok, and its very clear to see and feel the knives touching the side. The gap from the drum to housing is uneven as if the whole drum shifted to one side.
Perhaps if someone has a manual they could email me ...
Thanks in advance.

I think you mean a WC612.
This is an interesting one. I would think first look at the ends of the drum shaft to see if it indeed has shifted.
Is the whole drum contacting the side or just the blades?
I have never heard of this happening. I'm not sure how the bearings lock on the shaft but you will need to figure that out.
Pretty sure you'll need to take off the blower to deal with this.

Thanks , I am guessing the bearings are the issue, it almost appears the shaft shifted on the bearings, as its only about .125 " off centre. I was hoping to save undue work , but it looks like ill be pulling the blower and belt pulley to acess the bearings.
