The bar on my echo 8000 finally wore out after 15 years.. figured I would try one of the Amazon bars.. it lasted less than 10 minutes… pinched it and the chinesium tip broke completely off.. lol.. oh well.. ordering a better bar.. what do you suggest?

I've had good luck with Total bars but for the money Farm Mac or NeoTec seem pretty decent. I bought a 28in NeoTec light bar for a 372 and 395 clone and was impressed for the money. Can't speak to longevity yet, though

You think it's a rebadged bar? Could be and I wouldn't be surprised. I know the one I got seems pretty good but who knows as I said, I just run it through a little wood so far. It's destined for an Alaskan Mill so we will see

"8TEN" brand 30" bar sprocket tip holding up OK for me but its heavy heavy heavy- it was a proof of concept. When the sprocket/chain are pretty well expended I have a new sprocket, oregon bar & skip chain to go on in its place.

Tips are cheap part of the China bars. He said it pinched and broke. Not good to bore cut with either. Just stock up on replacements.

He said it is nt bar and explains it.

I have some cheap farmertec bars but only bucking type cuts. Know the China tips are a weak link to them.

My neo tech bar has been fine but chinese stuff is a crap shoot.
I also never bore cut, I just buck up firewood with the 660 clone that has the neo tech bar.
The tip blew out of a couple of the .325 bars that came on the 5800 clones I have, they blew the bearing before the first chain wore out.

Tsumura
sugihara
stihl but only the replaceable tip models
GB
Forrester platinum versions
Stens saber with replaceable tip
These have all been good quality bars
I stopped buying oregon after having serious oiling issues with their advance cut model and soft rails on laminate versions, Others may be able o suggest their better quality models that are great..I gave up though.

I agree with this for the best bars. I use a lot of oregon bars, but you have to decide what price point works for you, and how much/what type of work you'll be putting it through. I buy oregon mostly because they are mid-grade/mid-price. I have a lot of saws, and I like a bar and chain on each one. That also means I don't use any one bar a ton. FYI I have a Laser 28" bar on my Echo CS-8000 and it's been pretty good so far.
