A friend of mine aquired this old Sears saw, it had no spark - we cleaned and gapped the points put in some fresh gas and she fired right up and runs perfectly! it's a D-49 Power Sharp, model # is 917.351370, I looked for info on Chainsaw Collectors Corner but did'nt see it listed. Can anyone tell me what it is? looks like an old Homelite to me, how old it is and does it have any colletor value? What exactly is Power Sharp? is this some kind of self sharpening saw? Thanks! Matt in KY

I think it was made by Roper, I do not know the model number. I also think they were around 70cc.

I would guess 60s to 70s vintage and not particularly valuable($40-$80 in good running condition).

The Power Sharp was a saw mounted chain sharpener if it is the same as my Craftsman.

They have some torque and are neat to run. Good find.
