Well all bravado aside,plus the joking,Poulan at one time made some pretty impressive saws,profesional grade.Fact is,the grandson of the "Poulan" is a member here,if I'm not mistaken.
Most likely what happen was strictly for economic reasons.It was more lucrative to sell saw to Sears and Roebuck,Wright,Dayton electric motor etc.,than to be a seperate entity.
Some of the more known saw racers have in fact used certain Poulan models in their respective classes,some years ago,of course.Being an old "black powder" type,as Crofter says I am,I'm going to tweek a 46 cc 2100 Poulan just to see if this old goat still has it.The saw,not the operator.

AHA! i knew something would come out of this. Question is... which sort of bar would be the right choice to make this a double ender? no seriously.. i might have to try it.
bet the resale would be more worthwhile just for the odd factor. i am keeping tabs on who wants and/or needs them just in case however.

Personally I think there are plenty of junk and worthless saws out there to detonate if you wish. Anyone that is considering doing this to the "best Poulan ever" can send them to me if they wish. I'll go make some room in my PM box!
