for the first few tanks, hummm lets see here...... cut lots and lots of big stuff.... the bigger the better!!!:D in all seriousness i go kinda easy on my saws for about the first 3 or 4 tanks, they don't even start to break in till atleast the 10th tank:angel:

Hal, this is what I would be doing. Start up the saw with it locked on 1/2 throttle, sit it on the ground and let the tank run it self out, every 4 minutes or so goose the throttle to help it along.
There is nothing wrong with running 3 tanks thru it at this pace, even cutting a few sticks to marry the terminal parts together, meaning bar chain and sprocket. I would use any good 2 cycle oil, mix 32- 40:1. I would first open up the tiny exhaust port first to at least twice its size before proceeding though.
Hope this helps,
John

or better yet john, send the saw to dennis and let him tweak it first!!!:D

Wolfcsm ,
If it was me I would do what ever John say's
He has broken in more saw's than most people have seen .......

Like Ryan says if you really want it to run send it to Ken Dunn, Dan Henry or Dennis.
But all of the major builders will tell you the 066 is one of the best out of box saw's on the market.I would Open the muffler and hold on.
