I'm now thinking to tear this down to its fibers.
I'll get her running first.
Sinse it's bastardized, maybe we make it a toy for the board?

Soon I'll make room (about 8' of teardown space) and perform requests upon it. Maybe I send it to one of the good people helping for a wild mod?

Who knows. I want to learn tho.

IPL for the sxl-925 would be fantastic Mange! Thanks.

Air intake is a black plastic or man made material.
I gotta look up what Bosch plug to get and at least a gasket of some sort for the muffler an air filter fuel line and filter...

I might just start it off with some 40:1 then get the most high tech oil available and see about adjusting the carb. I'm psyched.

If anybody here sells this stuff please e-mail me. Gonna need a new bar, paint, clutch cover, and other stuff down the road.

Here's what I did.
Took out spark plug
1/2 filled with 40:1 and pulled at liesure for about 15 minutes. Motivational thoughts necessary to continue varied.

Unfortunately, I became distracted, forgetting all about the sparkplug cable boot which filled with exhaust goo.

The saw lit a cigarrette and said... "Clean-up and call me in the morning..."

Those 82cc Homelite are great running saws. I have three. I run 32:1 and have had great luck so far. You should be able to find carb kits and cluch/rim/sprocket parts at your local saw store. Oregon sells the carb kits and they are available. I have a 903 I bought from the same person you did..I haven't really had a chance to go though it yet other than to get it running.

My bet is your biggest problem will be the fuel pickup inside the tank and the fuel line from the tank to the carb. EVERY Homelite of that vintage I have purchased to this point has had melted lines somewhere in the mix. Bet you yours does too. Its a pain in the **** but relitively simple to replace the entire fuel line and pickup filter from tank to carb. Do it before going crazy.

The ignitions seem fairly reliable. If its an CDI it either works or not. If not its sometimes something simple like a plug, plug cap or plug wire.

The points ingnitions are easy too...they look kind of cheesy but all the one I had had to this point were fixable without having to buy anything. Plug wire to coil connection was one area I have seen issues.

Once its up and going, spend the bucks on a nice 20-24inch bar and yuo will be amazed at the power those oldies have. Puts my husky 365 to shame.
