I have a young apricot tree that has bore some fruit in the last 2 years. This year it only had a couple of blossoms, it had ONE apricot on it and now the leaves have curled up. They are crunchy dry but not falling off. ???? We live in Phoenix and have irrigation. Any idea what happened or what can be done?

What, no replies yet?

I'm no arborist, but we've got peach trees that get this....it's called "curly leaf" or "peach leaf curl" and seems to affect quite a few different kinds of fruit trees.

It's evidently a fungus, and it can be controlled by spraying the tree in the fall or winter before the tree buds in the spring. Once the fungus makes its appearance known on leaves there is little you can do to actually control it that season.

I'm sure if you look up 'curly leaf' or 'peach leaf curl' you'll get much more information on it and how and when to treat it exactly.
