I was just curious about something. I had gone into Muench Co. in Stamford, CT today and the owner told me that Muench is the oldest arborist supply house in the country. Does anybody know if that statement holds water or not? I think he told me that the place was started in 1939.

Karl Kuemmerling Incorporated in 1945. Mr. K was selling supplies out of his house for several years prior to that. I don't know whose company might be older.

Who's the oldest....?

Sierra Moreno Mercantile???? I read a piece on them, but am fuzzy on the details. They've been around a long time. -TM-

Sierra Moreno is just a pup-I think they started up in the 1970's. If anyone has a copy of Arborist Equipment handy they can look it up. Sierra Moreno was Don Blair's baby.

Forestry Suppliers have been around since 1949. -They are the folks who got a lot of my biz before I discovered Sherrill's.
