Please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place as I am new to this site. I have looked for this similar question on this site but could not find anything, so sorry if this is a repeat.

I am helping my father-in-law look for a clutch spring for his Jonsereds 630 chainsaw. He loves this saw and does not want to part with it. The tag on the saw has the following information.

Jonsereds 630
82-004190
Electrolux Motor
AB Sweden

It is a three piece clutch with a single spring and a coarse thread. I don't remember the thread size but can get it if needed.

The only Jonsered (not Jonsereds) part number I could find is 501919801, but no body seems to have it available.
I found a Husqvarna part number 501403402 for a model 61 that looks similar. The clutch set up in the parts diagrams look similar but I cannot tell if this is the same part.

Also, while I am here, can anyone tell me what year this was manufactured?

Thank you in advance for any help that is provided.

There are two on ebay currently. It apparently crosses over to 503560401 which seems to be available everywhere. Alternately, with a saw that old, it may be time for a whole new clutch - the gap on that one appears fairly large.

Howdy,

That clutch has a 1/2-13 LH thread. The 501 40 34-02 will work. There is a bit of a wrestling match putting the new one in. The clutch itself isn't available anymore, and it requires a crankshaft change to update it. It might not be a bad idea to hunt around for a spare clutch since it looks like that saw could last you a while. There's been a lot of really good saws that find there way to the cannibalization bench for this reason.
Regards
Gregg

Thanks to everyone for the info. I had guessed that it was made in 1982 but did not know for sure because I don't know much about any particular brand. As for a collector's item, it is not a shelf queen, it is used as a primary saw for cutting firewood.

Hey! I have a 1985 Jonsered 630 West Coast. I inherited mine from dad. I believe many Husky 266 parts cross over. I have a complete parts listing if you need it.
