Years of use and acceptance by working rope organizations. Arbos don't submit ropes and knots to testing like other working rope industries. Find the testing of the Scaffold Hitch that is referred to. Very interesting reading.

Besides, why would you want a three or four wrap hitch? Too much bulk compared to the accpeted Scaffold Hitch

The Scaffold is much more fair. The tail runs parallel and can be whipped or seized for more security. How do you secure the hamster tail on the hangman's?

I know some guys like a lot of bulk in the end of their climbing line, for throwing purposes.

This knot sure would give you more weight!

You secure the tail the same way you do a scaffold. Whip it or tape just as you would the tail of the scaffold. Its easy to untie and it's not too bulky for me. (the noose is what I'm talking about)

I think I'm going to try the noose on Sunday in a small Seet Gum I have to work in. It's not very big and I'll keep an eye on the knot. I feel very comfortable the more I look at it though.
