Had a neighbor offer me 250 dollars to drop a "box elder" that died and was dropping limbs in their yard. They said if I'd cut it up they would pile it up and burn it later. As soon as I showed up I realized it was a beautiful ash tree that they were talking about. It was around 100' tall and about 28 inches at the base. There was about 40 foot of limbless straight trunk. Needless to say I offered to haul it away and they were stoked that all they had to clean up was a few limbs. It was a great day. image.jpeg

I agree it does. The best part is it 500 yards from my house so it will be easy to get it home and not have to burn any gas.

You sure hit that one lucky but the truth is, they would have to pay the next guy to cut it down so why not you... Who marked the logs? Did they help you load the trunk or did you need to load those? Kind'a bites if you had to do that yourself...

You still have time to buy a Lotto Ticket.

I carry a rod that's marked in 20" increments and use fluorescent paint to mark my cuts. The guy who owned the tree marked it for me while I was switching saws and gassing up. I'm going back tomorrow with my sons to split and load it up.
