My Stihl 340 backpack blower crapped the bed today. I bought it June 10th 2 years ago, so it is out of warranty for 5 days:angry: .
I need to purchase a new one. What would you buy? Echo is the only other brand that I hear much about. Your input is much appreciated.

Red Max EB7001 World's most powerful.
62cc triple bearing crankshaft.
Air conditioning in back pad.
Good sound quality
Best air filtration design
Weighs 3-4 lbs less than Echo
Hair heavier than Stihl 420 which is more powerful than 320.

Stihls new 4 stroke backpack

Has anyone heard about this new back pack blower? I've heard it is going to come out but no other info
Frans

I've never had problems with back pack blowers from either Shindiawa or Redmax. The big ones cost ~$500

I've got the Redmax 7001. I've used the rest. I tried to justify buying every other blower that was marginally cheaper, but after talking to a dozen or so friends that cut grass for a living and use these every day and they all went to Redmax. It is definitely the most powerful and I like the features on it.

What is wrong with current blower? Seized? will not start? Maybe check out price of parts to repair, might be cheaper than new unit.

I couldn't find one of the bigger echo's or a redmax this morning so I bought another 340. I'm not sure if its the engine or the impeller that siezed. I dropped it off at the local stihl dealer and purchased another one. It is one of the only pieces of equipment that I didn't have a backup for. I really needed one for today so I went with what was available. Thankyou for your inputs. I need to try some of this redmax gear. I'm going to buy an echo climbing saw as a backup. I've been using two climbers on a lot of jobs and my 191t is acting up.

Mike,
Grab a gear there turbo. The 191 is the back up saw. I have an 020t that I climb with. With two climbers I need an additional saw in case one goes down. If my 020 goes down I want to use the echo and not the 191, hence the echo as a back up. Rest assured I have plenty of real saws.

Now go bully someone else before I have Rocky humiliate you again.
