I think the large clutch covers are standerd west coast set up. Long bars high HP saws in doug fir, cedar and hemlock make a lot of chips.Maybe on the (R) version wrap handle.

For Stihls, they come standard with full wrap models from the factory. Half wrap (standard) models come with the short cover.

I was lowering a big water oak stump yesterday,it was about 50 inches.36 inch bar, skip cahin...That big husky was hummin'.....Then I don't know what the thing could have hit as all of a sudden the saw kicked out of the cut and almost knocked me on my azz...Has this happen to any of you ya'll before?..It sucks

Yup... hit a railroad spike in a big 40" doug fir once. Knocked the saw out of the cut and scared the crap out of me. Completely took me by suprise. We determined that the spike was prolly put there be some tree-huggin' hippie:angry: years earlier. The spike was not visible at all. It took 7 cutters off of the full skip chain I was usin'. Bastids!

I hit a cement block in a tree once.I was making a back cut,and all of a sudden the saw just stopped pullin'....I decided to cut from the other direction since it was only a 24 inch tree, and was able to get just enough cut so it would fall....Still not sure hot it got there.I guess it must have grown around that block over the years....There was nothing in the stump I was cutting yesterday, but water oak is just extremely tough wood.I'm guessing I just hit a knot or a hard spot.
