I've got a 1992 Bandit 200+ chipper with the 300 inline Ford gas engine that I will be replacing the engine here in the near future.
I'm wondering if any of you can tell me if the clutch is specific to this machine. Or if a heavy duty clutch for a pickup or other application will work. I plan on replacing it while I have it apart, and Bandit parts tend to be a little pricy.

That unit should have a Funk pto with a 12" Ford clutch. But it's so old you never know what might be in there. Here are some part numbers that have worked for me in the past but there are some other options out there that might be more heavy duty that would work better. Whatever you do, don't buy a clutch from Foley's Engines, they are a rip-off.

CLUTCH KIT; NAPA 1107084 This kit works for 12” 10 spine, 1 3/8 though the disc is rather lite weight.
There are two clutchs that work for the Stein or Funk PTO’s one is larger then the other, above is the smaller with a 52mm throw-out bearing.
THROW-OUT BEARING: (large) Nachi 6205NSE (od 52mm) Nachi 6005NSE (od 47mm)
Napa P# NCF1107084 ( I haven’t tried this kit but I think it’s the right one, fits a 1960 F350)

Your best be will be to go to take the clutch to a Ford commercial truck parts store and have them figure it out.
You might want to check out Ebay as well. I have found some great parts there.
