I'm a small tree contractor (I only work weekends) thinking about buying a chipper combo from Bandit the 6" or 9" model. Has anyone used or bought one of these units before? Are they worth buying and how much did you pay? Thanks for any feedback.

I have only seen the Mod 90 Chip box combo I liked how it was put together but it is on the heavy side. What size truck are you going to haul it with? Are you looking for new or used on the price? Where in California are you located?

chipper/combo

I'm going to be buying a 3/4 ton and I'm in west sacramento. I think it would depend on the price and how many hours were on the used machine. I would prefer to go with a new one just to keep things simple.:rockn:

I met you a couple weeks ago when we brought our 007 chipper in from davis, how you guys doing? Happy Holidays!! Anyway, I'm going to have Paul hook me up when I do buy . I was just trying to find some feedback or reviews on this unit.It sounds perfect for a small contractor. Do you think a 3/4 ton would be a heavy enough truck?I'm thinking the 65 model would probably be best for my needs.

Hey Scott I just wanted to say thanks for posting that video clip I just watched it. That's pretty convincing. I think I'm gonna call Paul after the holidays and get a price quote. Thanks again Scott.

Yeah a 3/4 ton would be good enough I think. I will mention it to paul to see if he can get some weight specs empty and loaded. No problem I like helping people looking for Bandit stuff.

Have a Merry Christmas

I pull my model 90 chip box combo with an F250 Powerstroke. It does just fine. The tongue weight is not too bad. It doesn't seem to touch the overload springs. When you get it fully loaded it actually takes some of the tongue weight off, as the chip weight is almost behind the axles.

Mine is an older one '93 and still runs fine. Has the Duetz diesel on it. Had to change the timing belt on it last year. (do this before it breaks) Mine has pretty low hours for as old as it is though. Only have had to do normally expected maintenance. Hoses and belts, and a couple of bearings. Thankfully not the main disc bearings though.

Dumping is great since you don't have to disconnect the chipper as you do with a seperate chip truck.
