bar has burrs

is it ok to use a flat file and knock them burrs down or should i let a pro do it or get a new bar...tanks for the info

If there not real bad you can file them, just make sure youu file straight.

Truing your bar's rails is considered normal maintenence. I file mind just a RCH beyond flat/square, putting a VERY mild chamfer on the corners. I've never had to close mine up yet, but I suppose that's coming.

i agree that checking for burrs and filling them is regular maintenance.i usually check mine the same time as i flip the bar and clean out the groove in the bar.
