Bar hopping

When cutting some red oak today with a friends saw I noticed that the saw was hopping up and down, almost bouncing in the cut as well as moving right and left a bit. What causes this condition?

Bad sharpening.

As stated by Mike bad sharpening.
Also chain on backwards, rakers too high or too low. I ground some down much further than I should have . It jumped and bucked until the chain broke.
