...I decided that I will be firing the moron after this, just too dumb to be on my jobs, he is a danger to himself and to others, not to mention personal property.

While that might very well be true for your operation, I have found that sometimes the dummies make better employees than the smart ones. If you can get them trained to do a job, you generally don't need to worry about them being discontent in that position and moving down the line, taking your training with them.

Sometimes, the dummies work best, particularly when it involves sweat. Smart guys tend to think they shouldn't have to do any sweating.

I don't break rock, and I don't plant trees. I made him dig that hole a couple of weeks ago as payback for a bunch of stuff, could have had a friend do the job with his backhoe in much less time.

When I got to the yard this morning he was doing a dance... kid had been waiting to go to the bathroom for 15 min. I told him to go in the woods, no I have to go #2... Ok get some paper towels from the truck and go out in the woods... Oh I have some in the car but I was hoping we could go down the road, I didn't think I'd make it. Tell him get in his car and go down the road to the gas station, when he got back I got rid of him.

Ok. That sort of problem...he should know how to manage that by now. Life lesson: don't bring your crap to work. If you do, plan on getting fired.

Unless it is a qtr mile walk or sumtin, we refuel at the truck, normally I will take out an extra out rigger pad and have them do it there. Spills suck. We work on a lot of new hi-end homes with brand new concrete drives. We stay far away from them.
