here is the next fence line to be cleared out by the spring, out of the direct wind somewhat, and doable just got to watch out for the barbed wire! :)

Other than a red welt and a bad scare no harm was done but that stuff is lethal

Last spring I was stringng new barb to move the cattle farther away from the house and give me more land.. had already done 2 of the 4 strands all the way had only 200 or so feet to go on finishing, tightened the barb up ( new wire) had 6 out of 8 posts done for the 3rd row when the wire broke. Got 7 stiches on my right thumb, through leather gloves because of the tension. Neighbor finshed that strand and one other so he could put his cattle in his pasture. I sent my son to the house to get MOM, in the mean time I was walking toward the house, he tells mom I need a bandaid! Show wife the cut (to the bone) and she nearly passes out! Get to the ER and I get and intern! I gave him the riot act, they bring in the doc, every nurse and intern in the frigging place has to see a barb wire cut! Had about 6 beers onthe 30 minute ride just to kill the pain so I was in a real good mood! Doc made sure I had a scar!
For the last 2 years have been pulling fence, wire and posts out that has been buried for the last 20 years, almost 2 much for my truck!

You sound like a real prince. Everytime you see that scar you can remember how disrespectful you were to someone trying to help you.

the doc did not know how to finish off a stitch! Used 4 square knots to finish it off! He was a ob/gyn getting in his er residency!

Where did you go to medical school? Did he give you any advice on technique for stringing wire fence? Probably not since he's smart enough to stick to what he knows. BTW OB/GYN docs stitch up more sensitive places than your finger all the time. Pull your head out and get a clue and maybe you'll be good enough to have an intern work on you next time.
