I am having trouble with my 03 BC1000. The machine will smoke (out of the exhaust) and idle down and then pick up and run fine. This is happening with nothing feeding through it. It almost seems that the drum assembly is spinning with excessive speed, when engaged. Please help to lead me in the right direction. Ive searched but am new to these forums.

YOu might want to have a pro look at it. Sounds like it could be serious and you might be heading for a major failure. But ya, change your filter first.

White smoke or dark? Like the other guys said, change all your filters and check to make sure there is no sludge in the bottom of the fuel tank and no drips or wet spots anywhere.

Its diesel and blowing white smoke. The fuel filters were changed with regular maintenance and thats the first thing that was done after the problem occurred. I have not checked for sludge in the fuel tank. Also, There was excessive play in the drum assembly,(side to side) so i thought the bearings were bad. Changed them along with the locking collars that ride inside the bearings (they were worn but bearings seemed fine). After all of this started it up and the drum was jumping like crazy. I think it needs a new drum assembly and its going to vermeer to confirm this. I will update after I get it back.

There was a factory problem with the diesel. Was fixed under warrantee even after the original W xpired
