Google riacin, I use castor oil years ago as a kid until I could afford good oil. Even though it is refined I would never breathe that stuff again.
Ricin is made from the meal left over from pressing castor oil. It's not in the oil itself. Castor oil in and of itself isn't poisonous beyond giving you the chits if you ingest it.
It is absolutely terrible oil for use in a chainsaw.

I knew that, I had animals die from eating the seed. I just don't trust it and the fallibility of humans that make it. I used it in my early dirt bike days in the 60's and early 70's My Hodaka's ran good on it, but it burned dirty and clogged up chambers and spark arrestors.
.

I ran for 2 years on Husqvarna LS+ in everything including a new string trimmer and a hqv 345.
Brown residue everywhere and hard ash and carbon.
I did a combustion chamber clean in the trimmer when switching to synthetic, and i think that some remaining residue caused scoring.
Rights now im testing motul 710/800
Hqv XP.
So far 800 is to good, does not burn fully,710 is about right, XP is a little to thin for my taste. Will do a full rebuild soon and a longer term test. Will happily keep testing synthetic fd TC puls.

Btw, what do you think about those oil tests by Richard Flagg on YT, i really like his approach

First proof of the performance and results is in your hands. Don't trust everything you see and hear right off the bat. You can retain the knowledge you see or hear, but you are final step.
