Hi, I am wondering what is everyone's favorite bar and chain combo for a Jonsered 2139t climbing saw..

I run a 14" bar.

BAR:
Husq/Jred (oregon)
ArborMax (baileys)
"Oregon 91"
others?

CHAIN:
I prefer the non-safety chain, what is a good chain at a good price? Easy to hand file.

Thanks!

Preferred source will be Sherrill, Bailey's, or Husqvarna dealer please

I'm not familiar with that saw, but I generally can't stand a 14" bar.

When removing branches while cutting to the left, the engine is hitting the tree trunk, handicapping your ability to use all 14".

I prefer a 16" bar, as I generally prefer to cut to the left.

I have never used one, I use a ms192 with a 14" pico mini. I removed the standard pico mini narrow bar and chain because the saw cuts faster for removals with the bigger chain. The narrow makes smoother cuts for pruning.

I thought pushing a bigger chain would make it cut slower. Was I taught wrong?

For example I thought a saw with 16" bar cutting with .325 .050 chain would cut faster than the same saw with 16" bar with .375 .058 chain for example.....?

Thanks for the answers guys but I do run a 14" bar...In a tree I either use my climb saw with 14" or a 346xp with 16"...

Wondering about the ArborMax bars from Bailey's or whether I should just stick with the Husqvarna/Jonsered bars (made by Oregon).

Also wondering what chain I should get that is economical, fast cutting for removals, and easy to hand-file. I don't want "low-kickback safety chain."

And for the first poster the 2139t is basically the Jonsered version of the Husky 338xpt.

Thanks!

If my memory serves me right the pico mini narrow has smaller and more teeth and the pico mini makes a more agressive cut. The only trouble I have run into is on dead dry Elm a little tough to cut some times. On green wood that is not bigger than the saw should cut anyway the saw cuts quite well.

I use my 192 or a ms270 with a 16-20" bar
