Through the years I would guess we have used every known brand + some obscure ones, other than Save Edge, as we cannot source these at competitive prices. Stihl, Oregon, + other saw makers buy in their files so the quality is variable, of the current lot we favour Vallorbe with Bahco, a close second

I just came across this thread, well aware that its old.

Reading through, I see mixed reviews on the Oregon files and I think I can explain this. I have a few Oregon files that my dad bought back in the 80s in bulk, and they all say Swiss made on them. I do not see any markings of the sort on the newer Oregon files.
