Hi there!

I currently have a 12.5mm wire core lanyard that I'm wanting to add a floating prussic to with steel thimble.
And wondering what size chord I should use?
Currently testing out a 7mm chord but feel way to tight and almost impossible to release once under tension.

A lot depends on the hitch, but generally 3/8” or 10mm cord should pair well with 12-13mm or 1/2” rope. 9.3mm Epicord would probably be ok.
Being a floating thimble prusik, I guess you’re only really using a 3 wrap prusik hitch? Need the hitch to grab from either direction? If not, play with other hitches, that 7mm is bound to work with one of them.
