We spend lots of money and time trying to keep them from eating up crops.
30 minutes after dark in the spring/summer you can see 50+ in the pea/bean field, about 40 acres.
I lease some land to a produce farmer, zippers, crowders, white acres, etc. are legumes. Deer love legumes.
We shoot trophies and does. The bucks have been getting better over the last 10 years. Not monsters but we take a few 150+ class deer each year.
Here we have a 10 deer limit.

160 inch 3 9 month old, 130 inch 27 m.o. bottle raised doe. all deer I have bloodline are 250+ inch deer both sides, 3 things to grow huge bucks 1. genetics ,2. feed, 3. age ! take any one thing away , no growth.
my deer are raised in a natural setting, as you see a pine plantation with hardwood bottoms as less stress as possible! I will take fresh pics tomorrow

They killed a 174 1/2" 3.5YO buck off the farm next to mine a couple of yrs back. He was all over my cameras and I about cried when his son texted me the pic of his dad, still in the woods with the deer, while I was at work!! They didn't get the bigger one, he didn't show last year, but I'm pretty sure I got a shot on a Reconyx a couple weeks ago of him.
So now in a lot of places in NY they are coming out with this antler restriction crap, needs 3 pts on a side. So I guess only the poor bucks will get to breed, then what will we shoot????
