Wanting a 372 badly, and I was wonder what you folks think the best years of these saws are? What year did the xt or strato begin. Anything to watch out for in particular years?
From the year they were first built, till they ceased production.
Don't pass up on a sweet 371.
If im reading my serial number correctly my 75CC 372XPW was built the 51st week of 2006. I bought it new in Feb. of 2009. So it sat up in Washington for a little over two years. Its a good runner, never a problem. What was the first year of the 75CC 372? Anyone know?
I think the first year was 2006 and the last 2009.
In stock configuration the 75cc XPW would be first on my list, but I've heard the 71cc can be pushed farther (pre-XT).
I'd like to see the best 71cc 372 against the best 75cc 372. I'm talking a woods ported work saw. I don't think you'd see the difference some of you think would be there.
I think the first year was 2006 and the last 2009.
I think the strato version that we often refer to as a 372XT that still says XP on it is a USA EPA thing?
There are also a few 365 XP saws out there that are 70.5cc and differ from the 372XP strato saw by having different transfer covers
Also there are many 365 Specials around that are 65cc closed port and very fine chainsaws differing from the original 372XP in only having 65cc instead of 70.5cc and having the standard air filter instead of the HD pleated filter. The carb and everything else is the same including the carb. They run almost as good as a 372. You can make a 372 or 375 out of one real easily by changing the P&C
wasnt the early 371 a single ring piston? and the carb less epa restricted??? what about coils, limited, unlimited
