I notised that the bar nuts of the 372xpg needed to be tightened harder than on my my smaller saws.......

...but it is the smoothest and easiest started saw I have.....:biggrinbounce2: :biggrinbounce2:

Hey even I lost a Bar nut while cutting wood, I look at them quite often now.

Good comment!!!

The 575 is not any better than the 441.

Like Thall has stated these saws are all pretty close. The thing that separates them are things like serviceablity (on the saw and the dealer)

AV systems...........ETC...

This subject on what is better has really been beaten to death............:deadhorse:

Not saying which is better, Just helping a friend out.
He did ask me if I could do a muffler mod on his saw, Then turned around and said he wants to trade it in. We'll see.

Thall and Lake are my heros! The prince thread sold me on a the MS441 so I went out and got one for myself and never looked back. Great saw, glad I did it. It makes a good companion to my 361. Thanks again to Thall

Different strokes for different folks.
I would not go as far as saying "Heros"... How about informative about stihls.

Well I tell ya Manual if he's the type that goes ape over a little mishap like snapping a adjuster plug off due to a loose bar he's a dealers nitemare. Sometimes you have to fess up to your own mistakes and your friend sounds as though he's awful stubborn to do that. If power is his main gripe he's still going to be griping with a 575. There isn't a whole lot differance, some but not that much, power wise between all four saws were talking about here.

He was not going ape about it. nore did he snap at the dealer. matter of fact
they have done deals with each other for more years then I know them.
Lets see he has bought a 361,440 and now the 441 in the past two years, plus he buys quite a few used huskys from him.
Maybe he expected more out of the 441 then he is getting.
Last thing he said to me was Huskys seem to preform for him better.

Im not sure how it happened but I replaced the tensioner on my 460 because it was worn out and the second day later was cutting some seasoned red oak about 24" and the first time I adjusted the chain the pin just fell out?? took it back to the shop and the first thing he asked was if my barcover was tight?????? and it was they looked at it and gave me another one, the tech said it looked like a faulty spot weld or something??? My eyes are shot anyway so I couldn't see what he was talking about it,,,,

Bingo,
It's not always operator error, Sometimes it's quality control.

I have no quality contol issues with either Stihl or Husky, unless you regard the MS250 as a "real" Stihl..........:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Where is this Stihl dealer getting these used Huskies your friend is buying? Manual could it be they're being traded it on Stihl's because their owners weren't getting what they expected out of them,LOL. See Manual it just goes to show ya can't please everyone so ya please the ones ya can.

They have been dealing a long time ya say, cool. I see your friend having no problem what so ever whatever he decides to do.

Quote:Today he was felling with it as he was doing a plunge cut and the saw grabbed hard and chain fell off. when he went to put it on again he noticed the adjuster was broken, unquote:

Those are your own words above Manual. Does not take a genuis to see why the adjuster snapped off. Makes no differance though, its a easy fix and under warranty.

From what all I can gather if appears you may be right, the saw isn't giving him what he expected. Unlike him mine gave me more than I expected so there ya have it, can't please everyone..
