I thought it would be interesting to see what some of you would bid this i have heard prices very dramatically by location. So i will post these three pictures and if you want in let see how close we arn't lol. It is the tree closest to the deck over hangs the house some is hard to see in the picture somewhat. There are powerlines that run down the right side of the house.

Huh don't quote me but

I am in the northeast NJ specifically. From the photos I can say 60% needs to be roped out which is gonna make it a 1.5 day job with my 3 man crew for full removal, chip brush (leave the firewood), and haul away... so crew for 1.5 days 2000 chip and haul away 750 so about 2500-3000 sounds about fair i would really have to see it to make the final call... Granted everything cost more in north Jersey I could probably charge upwards of 3500-4000 in some areas around NJ and they would be more then happy with the price....:chainsaw:

Two guys four and a half hrs chipped loaded and gone 1200. Add fear factor for the HO call it 1500

I probably would be no more than 2500. Looks like straight central leader and an easy zipline to chipper/wood trailer.

What is the DBH, tough to guess from the pic.

what kind of equipment you bringing to have that chipped and cleaned up in four hours with two guys?

I have a 18" in chipper and mini skid, I would be at seven-eight hours with three guys, me climbing. Could probably come in at 1500 if I had too, I think you'd be hurtin coming in at 1200.

Standardly that would be at $2200-2500. Recently I have a competitor who will ,if called, cut me in half just to get the job. He is killing me honestly, but won't last much longer. He and one other are temporarily taking over so I have to be spot on with pricing in order to make ends meet. It is hard to tell the DBH of that tree, but if it is 16-24, I will make it happen for that 1500.

I'd eat that tree up and have the tree in the truck by 3pm with the stump for 1700.00 I mean 4gs come on that sounds like someone who don't want the job ...

That tree is 40-48" DBH,from the rise run of the stairs, I would bid 4200, lots of big heavy wood, looks like 2 days to have it all raked up and grind stump extra, probably be glad not to have it, 2over loads on the fuso and a lot of work, looks like lighting protection would have saved it, then the scalped tree next to line could be taken instead.

If I was a 25 year old fire man I would price it higher as I would halve a pension and a good pay check verses hurt myself on a side job to put all that at risk.

Looks like you could put a crane where that f150 is parked. 1 load of chips for the dump and a load of wood each for the bucket, dump and dump trailer. $400 for the crane, $1600 for me, $2K total, no stump, have a beer in hand by noon.

If you learn nothing else from this thread you can at least take away that pics don't mean ####.

That is about what I was thinking but I am not into telling someone how to price a job... I'm all about letting people make their own mistakes and learn just as I had to do.

Partly right 101, Easy tree, bad location. Wouldn't mess with it for any less. That wall will be a problem..........unless u had a crane. Ben there, done that. Wont make the mistake again!

granted I am not a good picture bidder but around here anymore you've gotta have your claws out and bid agressive to compete at least here anyway as far as the pedestal is concerned if nothing else that little tree may serve as a decent wood crane for the final ro ft..

For me and my area, I'd bid $2,000 as well. No stump, no crane.

Would not have a beer by noon though............

It would be a full day. :hmm3grin2orange:

Is it a catalpa? Shame to lose a tree like that. But if it's time... Ask around if you know anyone who works with wood. If you kept the wood to mill and sell, you could give the HO a little break. Catalpa is very beautiful wood and a joy to work with.
