???? birch trees turning black ?????

noitced the leaves on my 2 birch trees are drawing up ,turning black. but only the first leaves this season.the new growth looks great, but again the inner parts look like crap.have seen some lady bugs ,could they be the prob ? wats a good remendy? dont have pictures , but may be able to if needed. thanks

thanks for the reply.but i feel 100% sure havnt been bitten by fost. they continue to swrivle up turn ellowish ,then black for six to eight weeks. do the lady bugs normally destroy them or try to? ill try to post pictures tomm. thank you very much

Pics would be helpful. Lady bugs won't be the problem because they don't feed on plants. They are predatory and feed on other insects. Weed control products applied nearby?
