On a Jonsered 670, it it possible to stick a length of weed wacker monofilament up the oil pump outlet and clean things out? My flow, even on #4 is a bit slow and I am thinking I have some blockage. Is the fuel filter reachable through the oil tank or does the saw have to be split to access the filter?

Mike:I think you were referring to the oil filter screen, not the fuel filter. No the oil filter screen(filter) can be accessed by removing the oil pump. You have to remove the clutch first, then clutch drum, behind these parts is the oil pump drive gear(plastic) this may be worn causing your problem. If you need to go further remove the oil pump, behind it will be the oil pump intake hose, it is easily removed by pulling it out of the crankcase. Check to see if clean then reinstall it in crankcase. Next reinstall oil pump be careful the crankshaft has a shoulder that will require you to either use wraps of foil to allow the seal to slide on the crank without popping the spring, on or a crank sleeve tool. Next install clutch drum (grease bearing) then install clutch. I have also added an parts IPL for part #'s and show you the proper part sequence. Hope this helps you out, it is not that difficult to do!
