You would think that since it is a local nursing home someone in the neighbor hood might have a nice old saw to donate. They should put a add in the news paper. Help us out we need a saw add!

Do you realize how much nursing homes charge the families of patients???
They ought to be buying top of the line Stihls from THALL at what they charge! heh heh
Maybe Tom will bring his own...soon...yuk yuk

What about...

Is it a must to buy new saws? What about the possibility of picking up a couple of nice used saws. This may be an option as well. Another possibility is fixing the Homelite. What model is it? As long as its not one of the newer plastic junk saws, fixing up that old Homelite will probably provide as good of service as a new saw and for a lot less money. Agreed that finding parts for certain models may be difficult, but it all depends on what model and what it needs.

He picked up 2 new Echo CS-370's. Those are the Orange body saws.

Im trying to find out if this is the way they get there sales figures up... Selling the same saws twice ... Heck I see lots of Wildthingys sold as refurb's and most get returned the second time.....
.

I picked up a refurb Wildthing for $50 CDN, tossed a cheapo 18" bar/chain on it and for $100 I was making sawdust. I cut a lot of wood with that thing and it never let me down, but it wasn't exactly a powerhouse. I've got a pair of Husky's (154 and 2100) that have replaced it and passed the Widthing on down the line as a karma saw. It's served one more guy (he since bought a 272XP) and he's about to pass it on to the next guy.

Not bad for $100...

Wonder how many times it had to be refurb'd before they made it a good one???

Always like to hear about somebody getting a good deal..

I still like my Wild Thing. Got it for 35 dollars new, with case, spare chain, mix oil...still runs like new 2 pull starter, idles good, oils good, cuts good. Gotta live it.

------

Got the 2 CS-370's together.

Much better quality over the Poulans. They feel lighter, considerably lighter. They pull easier, have a primer bulb AND a choke. The spikes were already installed, only thing I had to do was put on the supplied Nose guard, and put the bar and chains on. Took 2 minutes a saw to setup, versus 5 minutes with the poulans.

These came with a scrench, tuning screwdriver, and a allen wrench.

5 year consumer warranty cards are already filled out...

Gotta go get gas before I fire em up. All I have is 87 octane, the manual reccommends 89 or better.

LOLOL, Elmore I've seen that pic somewhere before ya nut...

Both ECHO's fired on the 2nd pull from new, idled down real nice and purred. No adjustments required.

They are tuned a little fat, which Id assume is for breakin. Ill tune em leaner after they both get used one time.

Gawd I love these Echos!:rockn: :rockn: :rockn:
