1. the oil/gas mix ratio is 50:1. You can use any two stroke oil designed for air cooled engines. I prefer the echo branded oil.
2. For chain oil use any high quality bar oil: husky/stihl. Don't use waste motor oil.
3. use premium gas for your mix.

Thats my opinion on the topic

Thats pretty much all of it, but if your not cutting in extreme cold then the cheaper bar oils will do just fine too...

I would recommend you only use a high quality name brand (Stihl, Husky etc.) premix oil to blend with that premium fuel.

is shell v power good enough

If I may, I also want to suggest that the the narrow kerf setup, with 95VP/H30 chain will make that saw perform its best........:biggrinbounce2:

...it does on the 353, and the power of the 350 isn't much different, but it probably will profit even more from it.

Is 95vp good then? Have you ever run 20nk? Just curious how they compare.

Yes, 95VP is really good, but I have never tried the 20nk (na here).

The 95VP has a low-vibe chassis, and the 20nk has not. There has also been reports on cutter breakage on the 20nk, but not on the 95VP, as far as I know.......;)

Has anyone run both the 95vp and the 20nk? I love the 20nk so far, very smooth, holds an edge well. Finally today, after about 7 tanks of gas I'm thinking about maybe sharpening it, or trying the 20lp I have.

I have got the 95VP on my 51. About the same power as the 350. It does help somewhat to keep the chain speed up vs typical .325.

Shell V Power motor oil? Didn't know they made two-stroke mix, though I could be wrong.

Here's a thought: why don't you go down to a saw shop and buy the correct stuff there before you destroy your saw.

i ment shell vpower gasoline

Gotcha.

I think that any 90+ octane will work fine for you. I aim for 93, since it is easy to find around here, but I know that some areas only go up to 91. Though most modern saws are rated to run on 10% ethanol (manufacturers had to give in since that is all that is available in some places), it never hurts to ask to see what your local gas station is getting in and aim for the lowest non-gasoline content possible.

On my 350, I find the 95VP slightly better than the 20NK in hardwood, the difference in price makes me favor the 20NK.
On softwood, the Bailey's 20RC is the hot ticket.

I bought a used 350. I ordered an 18 inch narrow kerf carlton bar and chain combo from baileys back when they had their sale $19.95?, perhaps 6 months ago. The setup cuts fast. As far as durability goes, a friend has had the saw for the last couple of months but last I checked it was still working for him.
