Hi all,
Well, I broke down and bought a new saw. After much looking and reading up on them, I bought one of the Emak saws. A Cub Cadet CS50-18. We have about 4 tanks of fuel though it so far. Runs and cuts quite well for a 50CC saw. Thanks for reading. Maybe I will post pics later.

I have an Emak. Its an Olympyk 935DF top handle saw. I like that little thing.

I have had a cub cadet 3916"efco 940" for about 4 months, use it for trimming tree tops dropped by loggers, the little thing is responsive, light and pretty much vibration free, nice package in a 40cc saw.

Cc 5018

They had those at TSC and they had the Cub cadet commerical 5018 for $156+tax . Regular priced at $255. Close out priced, no longer handling them.

I bought a cub cadet 5018 on ebay about a year ago. I hadn't heard too much about them, and I wasn't really expecting too much. However I was surprised at the overall quality and anti-vibe. I've run about 20 tanks through it and Its the saw I pick up whenever I'm running a small saw. As for cub cadet no longer selling these saws, don't worry about that. John deere sells the same saw but in green (a CS52 I think) so parts are easy to get.

Hey, I was wondering about that, is Cubby no longer going to be selling these saws or what???? It came with a low kickback chain on the bar and a oregon chain of soom sort. I will get the model number of the chain and a couple of pics later on. Ryan

That cub cadet comes with oregon .325 safety chain.

I have both the 5018 and an efco 940 and both are good little saws.

Hi,
I have a couple more questions. I'm currently running a mixture of 40:1 on regular dino oil. I plan to switch it to Mobil 1 Racing 2T after approximately 2 gallons of fuel are run in it. After switching to synthetic oil, should I keep the 40:1 or run it on 32:1, 50:1??? After switching should I take the saw in for a carb readjust?? If I should then should I also tell them what mix ratio I'm using??? Thanks so much.
