like to hear from runners of the sachs

sounds to be a very adaptable saw for the woods.
thinkin of gettin a 64 or 73, but with the weight of a 79...
i need a saw for millin and firewood business., guess i need to calll dan

can i get a hopped up 64 whith a 79 top?
im new, but lookin for a fast saw, real new to saw mods

HI
The 6400,7300 and the 7900 are all the same weight. The only difference in the saws is the bore size.
Yes you can interchange the barrel and pistons on any of those saws.

Hi RP, the 7900 is fairly new on the chainsaw scene, but the saw builders are getting some fast times with a bit of massaging. Here is a video of one cutting on some Basswood. Dan is easy to deal with and will be able to look after all your saw needs.

basswood?
im lookin to cut real wood

should i get a 64 in hopes of mods? or should i let dan have at a new one and have a wooded 64?
sounds like a 64 is the way to go, then if i want it fast, just send to the dozerman

With the weight the same on all 3 saws, I'd go for the gusto and get the 7900.

If you want a cheap demo, drop by Home Depot and rent a Makita 6401 to see if you like it.

The ONLY difference between the 6400,7300 and 7900 is the BORE! All other parts of the saws are the SAME. Why would you buy a 64cc saw when there was a 79cc version that has more power and weighs the same? The only thing you save by buying the 64cc version is a few bucks. Trust me, the 7900 is a decsision you will not regret!

what im sayin is, get the sixfo and run it till i like it, im a 036 runner, then if im up fo it, let dan have at it, its a new saw, let him go. and for the price of a 44, i got a faster 64

im talking new to mods, and im on welfare......
the 64 can be made into a rippin saw, and i need to rip wood to fit the mill, and poor dan, hes the closest dealer....

starter saw, the 64

log on

My suspicion is that a stock 7900 will outperform a modded 6400. There's no replacement for displacement.............well maybe a turbocharger but that aint' gonna happen on a chainsaw.

so you cant make a 64 a 79?

i think the displacement issue lies within the cashflow

if i can get a six fo for a 36......
then make it a 79 that will kill a 66.....
where am i loosin?

i know im not loosin on a 36 that might get a 66 on weight
the 36 wont sell on me, you cant make one that will smoke a 66
and i think a 79 will kill a 66

Hi RP, that was just the Basswood 7900. You should see the Red Poplar 7900 and the Shagbark 7900, they make the trees piss their roots, not bad for a wood saw.
John

Dude, thats a REAL saw there, I'm not even gonna question that a 7900 will kill an066. I need to buy me a PP7900 from Dan! OH DAN!

so you cant make a 64 a 79?

Redpowered, One way or another you're going to have to buy a 7900 piston and cylinder, you can either do it when you buy the saw or later. I think buying the jug as a replacement part will cost more.

The first video Gypo showed is a ported 7900 that i made , and i have done alittle more to the saw now and am very happy with the out come , the second video is a stock out of the box 7900 with one of my barb wire chains on it , the difference between the 2 saws now are like today the stock 7900 cut 3.04 the ported cut 2.01 , same bar and chain and the bigger the wood the faster the ported one gets
