It can take a good 3 or 4 minutes at wide open throttle in wood before these autotune saws reset and tune.
I'd find some larger wood to make some long cuts.

I did that yesterday. Buried the bar. Yes, she ran good during and right after. However, it was back to stalling within a few more cuts in the small stuff. I'll try again though, for a longer length of time.

Any updates on the saw rustyb?

Actually, yes. I meant to post yesterday but got side tracked.

I took it to the local dealer and it turns out it had really low compression. So, Husky gave me a new powerhead. I have yet to cut any wood ...but am excited to...and just a little apprehensive. Hopefully next weekend.

Well, I have used the new replacement saw. Sad to say, it suffers from the same problem....though to a much lesser extent. It runs great when I keep it on the pipe with little break between cuts. As soon as it idles for a few seconds though, it loads up and stumbles upon acceleration. Usually, I can feather the throttle to keep it from stalling. But, who wants to do that with a brand new hot rod saw!!??

I really like the way the saw handles, looks (not that that matters!)...I like the air filter, love the control switch...love the slimness and lightness....and how it runs when limbing and cutting the smaller stuff. But man am I bummed about this stumbling and stalling. Makes me appreciate the way my 346 responded....every time I ran it. :(

Just to be sure, I mixed up some fresh ethanol-free 91 gas with Husqvarna XP oil (I thought I was running ethanol-free before but was not). Made no difference.

Also, not that it matters but a correction to one of my earlier posts. Some local dealers do indeed carry the XP models. Also, the local guy that helped me get this new replacement 550 was great to work with. I sure hope this issue can be resolved.

Don't think he's questioning you but maybe your service station?

That realy sucks, at the end of the day having the lightest fastest saw in its class is useless if it won't run properly.
Theres alot to be said about bullet proof reliability especially models which have been made for years, with all bugs ironed out.
Hope it all gets sorted for you.

Did they replace the saw minus the bar and chain? Or did they replace some engine parts.

Boy, isn't that the truth! I'm feeling pretty bad for selling my 346 right now. I just hope like heck the dealer and Husky will continue to work with me on this, and that I get a properly running 550 sooner than later.

Did the dealer run/test the saw and do the setup procedure? It's odd that they would release it to you doing the same thing.

I don't know. There was gas and oil in it though. And, like my first saw, it ran fine at first. It was only after a few minutes of cutting did it start acting up.

What is "the setup procedure" that you speak of?

The problem you have with your saw is in the carburetor. Your saw most likely has an AT7A carburetor which have been a major pain. The new carb they have for the saw is an AT12 which in testing seems to solve the problem. This carb just went into production within the past month. The part # for the carb is 587 08 48 06. Have your dealer get this and install it. Hopefully the new saw you got was made in the later part of 2015 as there was also a piston and cylinder update to alleviate some piston scuffing. If you don't get anywhere with your dealer let me know.

Does the part # 587 08 48 06 include the new fuel hose & choke control with the AT-12 carb?

Thanks for the info! Would the serial number tell me when in 2015 my saw was made? 2015 is on the plate so I do know that.

Also, can I tell which carb I have without taking it off?
