I just had to share the latest addition to my chainsaw family. This 026 was owned by my grandfather and kept in ultra clean condition, like everything else in his life. I took pics of the piston and cylinder and they appear as if the saw has never been ran, even though it's obvious from the exhaust carbon that its seen some use. I couldn't believe how clean it was, and the best part is he sold it to me for $80 CDN! I offered him more but he refused to take anything more than that. It came with a really nice case and a spare plug, and even the sales panflet from back in the 90's! I took a pic of the serial number in the hopes that someone here could tell me exactly the date of manufacture, my guess is it's from 1993.
This saw is very special to me since it was owned by my grandfather, so I'll be pampering it with Aspen fuel only. I doubt I'll use it as a work saw, so as to preserve it enough to maybe even one day pass it on to my kids! That would be kind of neat. Anyways, just thought I'd share and stir up some nostalgia, so if you feel inclined do share a similar story if you have one!

what a nice Grandfather, mabey just started and not cut wood?

Very nice saw. Like when they have some history or sentimental value to them.

I also have a saw of that era in near new condition an 038. Was my uncles. Will never sell that saw. I dont even use it. Just fire uo every now and then and put away.
Maybe someday my son will wear it out for me.
