Gecko's

I use the Gecko's and cannot talk highly enough of them. I feel like there is nothing on my feet. Spur position works well for me and i can stay in them all day long no problem.

Ya the gekco's are good. I have had the steel bucks for years. I needed a second pair to have on the truck. I priced the Buck Ti and I think they were almost $135 more than the Gekco's. I could not see buying the same old spikes but in Ti. I wanted newer technolgy. I have the american gaffs in my Gekco's.

Another vote for the Geckos, here.

More on what timber12 said about the american gaffs... You can order them with pole gaffs (short straight), american gaffs (long straight - like in the blow-up inset photo), or european gaffs (a bit shorter and with the birdsfoot kink in them near the end like the gaffs on the geckos in the picture on the right.)

If you liked the old Kliens, I think you'd be happy on the european gaffs, I know guys who are, but I find they kick out on me, just they way I set them probably because I was used to the heavy old steel Buckinghams. I went with the american gaffs, and I'm happy as a clam in them. You will find it fantastic to get all that weight off your legs on big removals! Cheers.

Geckos Rule!!!

I have been on the geckos for a couple of years now, they are super comfy and give you great support with the fiberglass cuff. If these ever wear out I will buy another pair..:rockn:

My body does not like spiking anymore (did it ever?) but with Geckos it is much lower impact on the back than the Bucks.

What's the dif tween geckos 1 and 2?

It's just the gaff style. I bought mine when the american (long straight) style wasn't available and like others said they seemed to kick out more than I liked so I usually wore my bashlins. I now have the american style and they are nice. I really like the upper leg attachment these have. Very comfy. Good luck with whatever you get. Jason

I have both, and both are great. If I had to pick one it would probably be the Buckinghams just because you can get footplates for them, and I don't think footplates are offered for the Gecko's

I find these to be superior to anything else on the market for two reasons. They have a pass through slot built INTO the climber for the lower strap that keeps it in the best position. And they have a curved climber on the leg, which is much different from a twisted shank.

These gaffs will be on display at the TCI expo. I am working on getting some in, far as I know this is the only pair stateside so far. Though that could have changed in the past month or so, but I know my rep did NO want to let me keep them.

As soon as I kow how many pairs are available to me, an ETA, and a deadset retail I will elt everyone know.

Hey creech, how much time are you actually going to be spending on your spikes? If it's only a couple hours a week, i'd probably go with something cheaper. The guys make a good point about the gecko's. If you are used to buck's, get the straight gaff for the gecko's. Personally, i'd go with the buck's.
