Well, I decided to go ahead and make the deal with the guy, sent him the funds via Paypal last Tuesday, and havent heard from him since. I sent him an emai on Tuesday of last week letting him know I sent the money, and then another email on Friday asking him if he had a chance to send out the saw. havent heard a word from him since he got the cash.Would you be a little concerned at this point?
I am just itching to get that saw!

Check his profile and see if he's even been online. Right now is the "inbetween time" for a lot. Working their butts off to finish jobs up before winter sets in.

I checked that, his last post was back in August. He has been a member since 01, but it looks like he haunts more than posts.

Did you get a phone number?

And really, a week isn't that long. Figure it took him a day to find a box. Then maybe two days latter they made it to the post office/shipping center?
Just saying, don't flip out just yet

nah, not flipping out.Just find it kind of annoying and a little bit un-nerving that there hasnt been a single reply to two emails since he got the cash.
Just cant wait to sink that saw into some wood. Like a kid before Christmas I guess.:)

This is an Ebay story but same idea. I bought bar and chain from a hardware store. Didnt show for a week sent a nice email asking if bar was sent yet. Today I got email first thing saying sorry about delay employee forgot to put in mail. He is giving me partial refund for my troubles. I will give him pos. feedback when it shows. Alls well that ends well.:)

Did you email him through here (IM) or email him to his regular email account? His paypal address is his email address. I hate it when people don't respond back, It makes me want to punch them. I would gladly spend $200 in fuel to drive somewhere to see someone who ripped me off for $50, could be my Miami upbringing but I don't put up with bullsh*t. just cause you live in another part of the country doesn't mean you ripped me free and clear. I'll stop now cause this is pissing me off..(if you need someone to ride up there with you let me know)

just be calm

some people have trouble because i\of a lack of patience. it sometime takes time to ship because of things out control of the the seller. my jobz can have me goin 20 differnt directions depending on the time of year. i still try to get the item shipped. i bought a 044 off a as member, he was great to deal with. saw had a couple minor probz but i stil can not complain. mine had a bad fuel leak simpe thing to fix, seller could not knpw it had a fuel leak.
just keep track of all emails phone calls etc. when saw arrives thank the seller and leave a nice note for the seller on a forum post as a way of saying thanks for being a good standing member of as.

:givebeer:

I have had great luck with buying stuff from AS members, either on the AS trading post, through private messages, or on Ebay. On a saw I 'won' on Ebay, the guy fessed up that he was an AS guy, and even took a saw back that was (in my view) listed as being far better than it really was. He even admitted that when he got the saw back, and paid for the return shipping. No hassles at all.

In my view, AS members have far more integrity than the crap I typically find on Ebay, or even on Craigslist. I would not have a problem buying or selling anything from anyone on AS, really. :greenchainsaw:

AS ROCKS!

I finally got an email from him this morning with a fedex tracking number, he shipped it last night. I didnt expect it to be delivered already, just the lack of communication after the funds transfer is what made me nervous.

Cool, hope you like your new saw, congrats.

I hear ya. After money leaves my paws, I like to know what's going on at the other end. A quick email to let me know what's happening is what I like.

I've had the pleasure of buying and selling a saw to AS members and both deals went very well...Communication is the key.
I know as purchaser and seller I was extremely happy w/ the communication from both parties.
From conv. w/ both individuals I believe they were as happy as I was w/ the transactions.
