Ok I'm buying my bosses sc252 for 2500 this week. It's been taking care of, owner operated only, oil changed regularly, all the works. My question is where or how can I put duals on it, and how can I change the single rear wheel to a dual? I've thought about building one from a old mower but didn't want to have to rig it! Thanks!!!!

Ok thought so but didn't know, any clue what the dual front cost? Thanks

Here in Europe I paid sick 816$ for the pair of duals. Yes you read right 816!!!

The 2 wheel steering is not worth it imho and was 1020$.
I love the 3 wheels as they make the 252 very manoeuvrable.
Somewhere i read about an user upgrading to a hydraulic steered machine after the 252 and he now hates the awkward handling.

Why did your boss part with it?

He is trying to take on less work, works to much as it is!!

Vermeer SE quoted me 350 for the pair of outside wheels with the tires, spacers and bolts required. Your existing drive wheel s are ready to except them. This was about 3 yrs ago. I acquired mine from a wrecked unit.

Btw ,the single steering/guide wheel is not what makes maneuvering them awkward,it's the lack of differential. Ie,won't turn well with both wheels locked, poor traction in one wheel drive. It is what it is.

Not sure if you got me right ozzy.
The guy with the 4 wheels (hydro steered, I can't remember who and what brand) where telling that the 252 he had before was easier to handle with less aligning/orientating maneuvers.
You can get into tighter spaces and you can rotate a 252 nearly 360° on the spot when unlocking one drive wheel, a feature no 4 wheeler offers.

I'm really happy with that and often face situations where a 4 wheeler would be too wide on the steering side.

A three wheeler always touches the ground with each wheel, like a table with 3 legs, a 4 leg table often has one leg in the air and wobbles.
