Agreed on the fir hump. I didn't expand on it much fir damage wise but you are correct. Cost wise I'd have to see a prudent set of numbers.

Was that the TMY50 you're referring to? If it is he still has it. I'll have to find it and upload it.

Hemlock bark is just to thin... and it rots so easy...

That aside I feel that if ya let them get tall and thick enough to support themselves thinning does good in hemlock. Seen a few over the years that they took too much too early, and poof next windstorm your left with salvage, and firewood.

Yea, he had a small Berger too. I went over and rigged a spar tree for that once but other then that I worked on the T-Bird.
Scared the ####ens out of me once. I was standing on the deck looking at the mainline while they were yarding when we broke both gantry lines and the boom came down. They didn't clean the acid off before they poured the babit when they were putting on the D's. Corroded the line inside.

So that's what you get. Use a noncurse word trying to be family friendly and you get censored by the machine. Those four letters add up to Janes signifigant other in my first grade reader.

Downhilling is not real popular over here.

When I was hooking we skidded quite a few cedar pole strips where things were strict like Humptulips is describing. If it had the slightest gouge we had better make sure and cut it since it wouldn't make a pole on the next entry.
