NEVER, NEVER use carb spray in a 2 stroke carb on any 2 stroke engine. Carb spray is very dry and will immediately strip the oil off the piston, rings and cylinder walls and cause scoring.
I'm not advocating using carb cleaner on anything except the carb, but doesn't carb cleaner usually have a small amount of oil in it to prevent "drying out" carburetor parts too much, as opposed to something like brake cleaner which will remove every last bit of oil and everything else?

How about rubber seals?
Never tried it on rubber.
There's no reason for a carb cleaner to come in contact with rubber parts.
A carburator does not have any rubber parts .
Metering diaphragms are made from nitrile rubber ,which is totally unaffected by carb cleaner sprays ( nitrile rubber among other things is famous for its chemical resistance to a vast range of organic solvents ) .
