I just recently purchased this 2500-4 and knew that I would have to replace the main drive sprocket. The problem is that i cant seem to get it off. I have tried heat/prying on it and also tried a sprocket puller. None worked. The plate the sprockets mount behind keeps me from being able to get a hammer on them at all. The larger sprocket is the one that needs replaced. I was going to try and cut it off but I can't even get the smaller sprocket off in order to get the chain off. What other options do I have? I am out of ideas? The only other thing i can think of is to find another master for the chain and cut it off, then cut off the large drive sprocket.

On that smaller sprocket, the 3 threaded holes are for the mounting mounts to drive the sprocket off the inner shim. Be careful, it may be crusted on there pretty good. Try heat as you work the bolts if it doesn't come off right away.
