Sawtroll that's a post I've been wating to see for a long time. I have to deal with that off brand whatever the hell they are numbers all the time. I get alot of Huskies, Macs, Cub Cadets, John Deere and other makes coming in for chains all the time. I ususally have to do it by eye because the number system on most of them are as you say, don't tell you schit.

This bar tells you everything you need to know, least one outfit has their act together..

The Husky/Jred bars tell exactly the same story, at least the ones I have seen (both rebadged Oregon and the real made in Norway Em bars)  ......

I saw that Trimmed. Too many codes. Compare that number you decoded to the Stihl bar. Stihl makes it plain and simple , no decoding. Ok, so I'm spolied, what can I say,LOL

That is true, and also for Husky, Jonsered, Oregon etc......:D :D

...good try, though.....

Well thats good Sawtroll. I see alot of saws come in with aftermarket bars and all these letters and numbers and its a headache at times. Most times I just take the chain off, count the links, see what pitch it is and cut it. PITA but I do it. In fact I've sold a few saws by saying if ya bought a Stihl you wouldn't be all over town looking for a chain. They laff but admit its true. I had a Cub Cadet this morning and he's been in before. He goes I know, I know, but I can't find a chain for it anywhere else. I told him if you don't soon buy a Stihl I'm gonna quit cutting your chains. We have a good laff and go on. I'll sell that man a new saw before its over, he just doesn't know it yet, hehe

Hopefully a 361 then, not one of the antiquated models, or the fat-ass one.......:givebeer:  :)

Nope, I'm gonna sell him a 441, ya know, that 372 killer,ya know the one thats smoother, cleaner running, burns less gas and has better bar markings and a better chain, and no hump in its back,LOLOL

Not to derail this thread looking at that bar it looks like the first two numbers are 15, I got my specs on and its 15. I say look at the Stihl bar info and look at the other bar info and ask yourself which one is easier to read.

Man...........I wish I had you as a dealer Tom!!!

Simple, Husky, Jonsered and Stihl.......:rockn:

My little Dolmar bar is marked perfect. Tells me the drive links, the pitch, the gauge, and the length so add Dolmar to the list. Oregon does better than alot of those "aftermarket" bars, wink!

Can't beat the ole timers of Ma and Pa. They are the very best. Alot of these modern shops know mostly one thing, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Ma and Pa treat you as a person. I'll treat you as a person too though, right before I rob ya,hehe.
